Instructions for Creating Automations

Step 1: Creating Automations with Eco’s Rule Engine

This is your main Dashboard screen. To create your first Automation, you will need to access Eco’s rule engine.

To do this, you simply tap on the “+” icon from the upper right corner of your screen.

Then tap the middle icon.
This is the main screen where you manage your rules. As you create new Automations, they will automatically show up here.

To create a new Automation, tap on the “+” icon at the bottom of the screen.

This screen helps you manage the Triggers and Actions you use to create Automations. You can add several Triggers and Actions.

First, let’s create a “Trigger”, that is going to start the Automations into action.

Tap on the “+” icon at the bottom of the screen to get started.

Now tap on “Triggers”.

This is the main screen for selecting which Triggers you want to add to the Automation.  There are 3 types of Triggers to start with.

  • Device Based
  • Time/Date Based
  • Location Based.

You access each type by scrolling across the icons in the top row. We will go into much more detail on how to use these Triggers in the samples that follow below.

To start with, we will add a simple Door Sensor to the Automation. This way when the door is opened the Trigger will start the Automation.
Once the appropriate options are selected, the Trigger will be added to the main Automations screen.

Next we will add an Action to the Automations.
